Looking for a perfect day trip from Naples? Ravello, on the stunning Amalfi Coast, is just an hour away by car from the city center. This hidden gem is famous for its iconic cliffside gardens that offer breath-taking views. The historic city center is full of charm, offering plenty of nice restaurants and souvenir shops. One of the main attractions of Ravello is the stunning Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, both with breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast. These gardens are a true masterpiece of nature and architecture, and you’ll feel like you’re walking in a dream.
If you’re looking for a relaxing day, you can also enjoy the beautiful beach of Castiglione or take a boat tour along the coast to admire the colorful houses and the crystal-clear sea.
But the best part of Ravello is the atmosphere. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time, surrounded by the beauty of the past and the tranquility of nature. It’s a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to the Amalfi Coast.
I cannot start my journey without a good coffee, so this is why our very first stop was in one of the lovely bars (coffee shop) in the main square, Piazza Duomo, while I enjoyed the view of the Duomo itself.
The best attractions in Ravello are indeed Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo
I traveled to the Amalfi Coast late September, when the weather is still gorgeous and the coast is not crowded by tourists.
Villa Rufolo is our first Villa to visit, the entry costs € 7 which overlooks the Piazza Vescovado and the ‘Garden of the Soul’ .
Stunning and remarkable views and terraces all around the Villa. There aren’t many words to describe this gem place, the only thing I can say – This is a place where I’d like to live forever.
Our second stop in Ravello is Villa Cimbrone, the entry costs again € 7, and it’s the famous Villa used as a wedding location. As well as Villa Rufolo, it offers stunning views of the Mediterranean coast, from the “Terrazza dell’infinito” Terrace of Infinity.
Do not miss inside the Villa and its gardens
– The Cloister
– The Avenue of Immensity
– The Statue of Ceres
– The Terrace of Infinity
– The Temple of Bacchus
– The Eve’s Grotto
– The Statue of David
– The Rose Terrace
– The Tea Room
You cannot leave Ravello before walking on the “Sentiero dei Limoni” Lemons’ path. It’s a scenic hiking route that goes from Maiori to Minori. Start your hiking from “Piazzale Campo” Maiori.
Ravello is for sure a breathtaking destination.
