Let’s start with the train fare, which is less than £15 from St Pancras Station. Once you arrive, you’ll find Hastings to be the perfect destination for vintage shopping! With so many vintage shops to choose from, it’s hard to decide where to start. And if you’re not prepared to bring anything back to London with you, be warned – you’ll want to buy everything! But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered with some tips on the best vintage shops to visit.
Lunch stop in Hastings Old Town
The charming old town of Hastings is full of hidden gem pubs, each with a wonderful selection of food and drinks. During my visit, I had the pleasure of dining at “The Crown” where I indulged in the best roast pollock on caper and herb potato cake I’ve ever tasted!
Although I was initially let down to find that Hastings Castle was closed and the lift to the East Hill viewpoint was not operational, I decided to climb all the stairs. And you know what? The hard work paid off! The view from the top was absolutely breath-taking, and the field at the summit made for a perfect spot to enjoy a picnic.
