Copenhagen, the enchanting capital of Denmark, is a city that effortlessly marries rich history with modern design, creating a cultural tapestry. It invites travellers from all corners of the world. With its picturesque canals, cobblestone streets, and captivating architecture, the city is a treasure trove of experiences for those seeking to immerse themselves in Danish culture and savour the local flavours. Join me as I take you on a three-day journey through Copenhagen. Unveiling its hidden treasures, iconic landmarks, and unforgettable culinary delights.

Day 1 of a three-day travel itinerary to Copenhagen

My Copenhagen adventure began when I arrived at the airport. Immediately, a short metro ride transported me to the city’s heart. The excitement was palpable as I checked-in into the stunning 25hours Hotel Indre By. An elegant haven that set the tone for my stay. The luxurious surroundings and impeccable service made me fall in love with every moment in this remarkable city.

After settling in, I embarked on my first day of exploration. I started the day with a mouthwatering brunch at Delambo Cafe, where Danish pastries and open-faced sandwiches were served with love. With my stomach satisfied, I strolled through the historic districts of Indre By and Gammelholm. Where colourful houses and the iconic Nyhavn canal brought postcard scenes to life.

Crossing the Inderhavnsbroen bridge led me to Christianshavn, a quirky neighbourhood that includes Christiania, a self-governing community with its own rules. A square in Christiania was where no photos were allowed due to the illicit cannabis trade. Interestingly, this unique prohibition was a reminder of the city’s distinctive character.

I continued the day with a visit to the Round Tower, which offers breathtaking city views and explores vintage shops and home decor boutiques. My culinary journey took me to read my whole three-day travel guide of Copenhagen to know more.

Day 2: Cultural Treasures and Culinary Delights

The second day began with a visit to a delightful bakery known for its pastries and aromatic coffee. Their croissants and lattes made for the perfect morning treat. Read my travel guide to learn more.

A leisurely walk took me to Frederik’s Church, also known as the Marble Church, a splendid architectural masterpiece. The dome and Corinthian columns were awe-inspiring, setting the stage for a day of exploration.

I explored a royal Castle, its history and opulent interiors before enjoying a healthy sandwich and juice at some local place; its cosy atmosphere made it an ideal place to recharge.

The afternoon was dedicated to vintage shopping, and I couldn’t resist exploring the unique finds scattered throughout the city. In Osterbro, I embarked on another culinary adventure at Roots Vin Bar, where authentic Italian flavours subtly contrasted with the Nordic cuisine I had savoured. Here, the diverse culinary experiences of Copenhagen continued to amaze me.

Day 3: Discovering Copenhagen’s Charms

On the third day, I walked from the city centre to Kastellet, a star-shaped fortress that spoke of Denmark’s military heritage. I visited the iconic Little Mermaid statue, symbolising Hans Christian Andersen’s timeless fairy tale.

My journey took me to another renowned bakery that offered an array of freshly baked goods. From there, the aroma was irresistible, and the pastries were the perfect fuel for the day.

With its regal architecture, I visited a famous Palace hosted by Denmark’s political and administrative powers. I ascended its tower for panoramic city views and called the sleek and modern Library on the waterfront.

In the evening, I revisited Osterbro, this time for an Italian culinary experience at Beviamo, the sister restaurant of Roots Vin Bar. Subsequently, the authenticity of its Italian cuisine contrasted with the Nordic flavours I had encountered during my stay.

My three-day journey through Copenhagen had been nothing short of enchanting. The city’s vibrant spirit left an indelible mark on my heart, from the picturesque streets to the culinary delights. With its blend of history, design, and gastronomy, Copenhagen is a destination that begs to be explored.
