Dubrovnik and Bosnia Herzegovina itinerary

I visited Dubrovnik, in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the middle of July and here are the things you can do and visit with this detailed Itinerary!

I took a bus from Tivat (Montenegro), I was there to enjoy some wonderful days off. The cost of the bus was around £25.

I stayed in a lovely Airbnb called  “Dia – Studio Apartment” with one of the best views ever, stunning and peaceful. You have to be ready to walk a lot in Dubrovnik and to climb steps and steep hills all the time! Trust me, the views are so with it though.

Day 1 of Exploring Dubrovnik and Bosnia Herzegovina

The first day I walked all day in the old town of Dubrovnik.

Enclosed by mediaeval walls, wonderful restaurants, a lot of souvenir shops, Art galleries and Museums. It’s the world’s finest and most perfectly preserved mediaeval city in the world. It’s not a coincidence that it was the film location for TV’s “Game of Thrones.”

That day was extremely hot, so I tried to stop quite immediately at the little hidden gem “Buza Bar”. The panorama is amazing due to its position on the cliffs right above the sea. Unfortunately I didn’t have any cash with me and they don’t accept cards.

The walk back to the airbnb in Branitelja Dubrovnika is just breathtaking.

I had dinner at “Marangun Restaurant”, a Mediterranean restaurant where their fresh tuna salad is to die for! Go for the local beer, refreshing. Lovely service and affordable price.

Day 2 of Dubrovnik and Bosnia Herzegovina vacation Itinerary

I decided to take a guided day trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina organised with Viator. I had the chance to visit the UNESCO-protected Počitelj, which boasts beautiful historical sites. Then, Medjugorje, the place where, in 1981, six children saw an apparition of the Virgin Mary and has been one of the most popular spots for Catholic pilgrimage in the world.

I experienced seeing and touching the water weeping from the miraculous statue of the Resurrected Christ.

Finally, Mostar with its stunning old bridge, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known for its extraordinary technological achievement of bridge construction and also for the old tradition of jumping off the bridge (23 metres high). This tradition began in 1664 – a 16-year-old boy must jump from the bridge as a right of passage. The jump these days costs 25 euro and you have to be trained by professional jumpers!!

For lunch I had the typical food Cevapi at the “Divan Restaurant”.

Cost of the whole tour was less than £50.

Day 3

To save you time I’ve created a very detailed and easy travel and food guide with an itinerary break down.
